The 16-function maintenance menu covers install, repair, backup, restore and reset, and portable mode keeps configs, API keys and memory in the drive's data/ folder so you can move machines. Baked in are 52 offline productivity skills (GitHub, email, notes, PDF, AI drawing, weather, calendar) and one-click config for DeepSeek, Kimi, Qwen, GLM, MiniMax, Doubao, Qianfan and Mimo, plus chat hooks into QQ (official, ~1 minute via 3 commands), Feishu, WeChat, Telegram, Discord, WhatsApp and Slack.

Spider Cloud is software you call over HTTP. A POST scrapes one page into markdown/JSON/HTML/text, crawls a whole site with pages streaming back as JSONL as each completes, or runs a search endpoint that returns SERP results plus scraped pages plus AI extraction in one call. Its custom browser executes scripts, loads lazy images and finishes infinite scroll; unblocking covers bot walls, CAPTCHAs and geo checks with retries; Browser Cloud runs stealth sessions with CAPTCHA solving default-on; the WebSocket browser API accepts Act/Extract/Observe commands mid-session. Integrations run to LangChain, LlamaIndex, CrewAI, Dify, Zapier, Pipedream, Claude Code, Codex, Cursor and an MCP server. One is an installer for one framework. The other is infrastructure for any pipeline that needs the web.

Both list freemium, but the currencies and shapes differ. U Claw's free paths are a one-click online install script, an Electron desktop build and a do-it-yourself developer route; the USB package is the paid product, with remote install, troubleshooting and model tuning from ¥50, custom development and private enterprise deployment from ¥200, and enterprise AI rollout consulting from ¥3,000. One-time hardware-plus-service purchase, not a subscription, and the cost is dominated by the drive and the hand-holding. Note from the facts: do not buy it because it's cheap — buy it because your network blocks the upstream install.

Spider Cloud bills per request on pay-as-you-go, where geo-targeted crawls live, and offers a flat-rate Unlimited tier where concurrency is unmetered. The trap the vendor itself flags: residential/ISP proxies and AI extraction bill separately from base request pricing, so a naive comparison against a bundled competitor quote is wrong. Unlimited also has no geo-targeting yet and queues nothing server-side — you handle HTTP 429 backoff yourself. The newest commercial lever, live since 2026-09-10, is a provider router object in scrape and crawl bodies that can send individual requests to outside providers on your own keys, so you can split work across Spider and your existing contracts. Run your own page volume against both structures before committing.
