The AI failure detection (Gadget) works well — it's caught spaghetti and layer shifts on our test prints reliably. Setup really is under 30 seconds via plugin or Docker container. Where it excels is in breadth of platform support: OctoPrint, Klipper, Bambu Lab, Elegoo — it covers almost everything. The mobile app integrations (OctoApp, Mobileraker) let you control prints from your phone seamlessly. Notifications via Discord, Telegram, or SMS mean you never miss a print failure. That said, this is a cloud service. If you need offline-only operation, look elsewhere. Privacy-conscious users might hesitate sending webcam images to the cloud, though OctoEverywhere has a clear no-sale policy and end-to-end encryption. The free tier caps at 3 printers — adequate for most hobbyists, but farms will need Supporter Perks which is still affordable ($3.99/mo + $1/printer/mo after 5). Compared to Obico (formerly The Spaghetti Detective), OctoEverywhere's free tier is more generous: unlimited AI detection vs Obico's limited free detections. Obico does offer self-hosting, which OctoEverywhere doesn't. For most users, OctoEverywhere's simplicity and price win out. In practice, we'd recommend OctoEverywhere for anyone with network-connected 3D printers who wants to monitor prints remotely. The community support is excellent — the developer is active and responsive. Just be aware that your printers depend on an internet connection to the service; if you prioritize local control, consider self-hosted solutions like Mainsail with a VPN.
