The first is a family journal: twelve entry categories, three photos per entry (twenty on Pro), a contents page that jumps to this time last year or the last vet visit, a year of months shaded by how much you logged, and photos that develop the first time you see them. The second is a paperwork killer. Photograph a vet receipt, invoice or vaccination card — or upload the PDF — and the AI extracts the visit, vet, clinic, date, vaccines and medication, crops and straightens the page, and lays everything out for you to check before saving. If a page can't be read, the same fields are there to fill in by hand, which is the honest way to handle OCR failure. The extracted data lands on the timeline with the original document kept beside it, and the Health Hub groups vaccinations, medications and documents by visit so you can export the lot as a PDF for a new vet. That is the workflow no notes app or photo roll replicates. The AI positioning is deliberately restrained: there is no chatbot, nothing to prompt, and the insight surface is a crystal ball that glows when there is something new — a pattern in the walks, a change after a new food, something worth mentioning at the next check-up. It calls itself awareness, never diagnosis, never scores you. That restraint is a feature if you dislike alarm fatigue, and a limitation if you expected a medical monitor. The Crib carries the retention load: a Tamagotchi-style illustrated room where the envelope, trophy shelf, scrapbook, calendar, bed, medical bag, crystal ball, food bowl, settings and scale each open a feature. Picking who is asleep on the bed from 16 personalities, each with its own art and name like The Floof — tiny cloud, big feelings — is the kind of detail that makes a daily logging habit stick. Cats get everything dogs get: their own Crib, timeline, health records and weight charts. The one asymmetry is breed detection from a photo, which is free but dogs-only for now. Sharing is built for real households: up to six people per pet via private link, with 'Added by' badges so you can see who logged what, which matters when a partner, a pet sitter and a teenager all feed the same dog. Keeping vaccinations, medications and weight by hand is free, so the free tier is a working journal rather than a demo. Scanning, PDF attachments and PDF export sit on Pro, and medical photos added on Pro go to private storage. Data lives in the EU, is never sold and never used to train models, and is exportable as a PDF — the right posture for a health-adjacent app. Where it does not fit: anyone who needs clinical-grade alerting, integration with veterinary practice software, or a spreadsheet-dense analytics view will find the aesthetic and the soft edges wrong for the job.
