Harold

We like Harold because it addresses a real pain point: extraction is easy, but validation is hard. Most OCR tools give you raw text — you still have to check it yourself. Harold's rules engine catches VAT mismatches, wrong supplier IDs, and line-item miscalculations before they hit your ERP. That's where the time savings come from. We'd reach for Harold if you're an accountant or ops person drowning in invoices and you use Xero or QuickBooks. The pricing is refreshingly simple — £19 for 250 docs is cheap even for a small firm. But be honest: the Founder Rate is a limited-time hook. Standard at £29 for the same 250 docs is less compelling. Enterprise at £149 for 3000 documents is decent for volume. Where it bites: no on-premise option, limited ERP integrations (only Xero and QuickBooks today), and no free tier beyond the live trial. Compared to Rossum or Docsumo, Harold is less feature-rich but more focused on validation — it's a tradeoff. If you just need raw extraction and don't care about business rules, look elsewhere. But if you want validated data, Harold is worth a test drive.
