NotebookLM Featured Notebooks is a library of curated, expert-built research notebooks inside Google's NotebookLM. Instead of assembling your own sources, you open a pack pulled together by a named author, publication, researcher or nonprofit — then read the originals, ask questions and get answers grounded in that material with citations. The launch lineup spans longevity advice from Eric Topol, The Economist's The World Ahead 2025 report, Arthur C. Brooks' Atlantic columns, a Yellowstone science guide, human wellbeing trends from Our World In Data, Jacqueline Nesi's parenting newsletter, the Complete Works of Shakespeare, and a Q1 earnings tracker covering the top 50 public companies worldwide. Each featured notebook runs on NotebookLM's core reading stack rather than a cut-down viewer: you read the source documents, pose questions and get cited answers, listen to pre-generated Audio Overviews, and map the main themes with Mind Maps. Featured notebooks are also publicly shareable, which matters because more than 140,000 public notebooks were created in the four weeks after public sharing opened — Google says more collections from The Economist and The Atlantic are coming. Who it's for: lifelong learners, students and researchers who want depth on a topic without spending the first hour vetting sources. The curated set also gives analysts and parents a credible starting point where a generic search result would not. Rollout began on desktop on July 14, 2025. The tradeoff is scope and control: this is a guided shelf, not an open canvas. You pick from Google's editorial catalog rather than building notebooks around your own material — for that, plain NotebookLM remains the tool.
