Portt is an iOS app that transforms your photos into historically accurate scenes from any year between 3000 BCE and 2050. Unlike typical face-swap or filter apps, Portt uses AI to analyze your entire photo and reimagine the scene with period-appropriate buildings, vehicles, clothing, and photography styles—including authentic film grain and color processing. It's designed for culture and history enthusiasts who want to see how a place looked in a specific era, not just apply a vintage filter. To use Portt, you spin a year wheel to select your target era, then upload a photo. The AI rebuilds the scene from scratch, adjusting architecture (e.g., modern buildings become historical structures), transportation (cars become horse carriages or vintage autos), and fashion. You can also change the location to discover how different cities appeared throughout history—all from a single photo. The app also supports backward time travel to modernize old photos. Key features added in recent updates include On This Day widgets (daily history widget), Scene Context (text input to guide the AI for sharper results), Before/After photo and video sharing, time-travel video morphs (v1.7), and landmark detection with worldwide search. The app also offers a redesigned year wheel with BCE and prehistoric eras (v1.6). Portt is available only on iOS (iPhone/iPad).
