Sentiment Shifts: AI Tools Whose User Verdict Changed

Original data by RightAIChoice · computed from the live catalog, as of October 23, 2026 · October 1, 2026 edition · refreshed monthly · data CC BY 4.0

TL;DR — as of October 23, 2026

Of 69 AI tools re-assessed in October 2026 with 25+ real-user mentions, 88.4% kept the same verdict; 3 improved and 5 worsened. Across all 4,118 tools with that much discussion, 20.5% are rated positive, 69.6% mixed and 9.9% negative.

  • Each tool's sentiment verdict — positive, mixed or negative — is synthesised from what real users wrote about it across public sources, and re-synthesised on a schedule. This report compares each month's verdict with the previous month's for tools with at least 25 mentions behind both.
  • Most verdicts do not move month to month, which is itself the finding: user opinion of a tool is sticky, and a move is worth noticing.
  • Moves are listed with the previous and new verdict so a reader can open the tool page and read the quotes behind each.

How is this report computed?

Every sentiment synthesis is stored in tool_sentiment_history with its verdict, mention count and timestamp. For each tool and calendar month, the latest synthesis in the month is taken; it is compared with the latest synthesis in the previous month.

A pair counts only when both syntheses rest on at least 25 mentions and both carry a verdict of positive, mixed or negative. Verdicts are ordered negative < mixed < positive; a move up is "improved", a move down is "worsened".

The current-verdict mix reads the live sentiment cache for published tools above the same floor.

How this report is made: every number is computed directly from the RightAIChoice catalog by a fixed database query (named under Sources) — no number on this page is estimated or generated by a language model. The explanatory text is drafted with a mixture of AI models and reviewed by a human editor before publication. Report rows describe what we observed on the dates shown; they are not verdicts about any vendor.

FAQ

Where does the sentiment verdict come from?

From public discussion of the tool: Reddit, Hacker News, G2, Product Hunt, YouTube, app-store reviews, Trustpilot and others. Mentions are collected, checked for relevance to the tool, and synthesised into a verdict with representative pros and cons. The synthesis is drafted with a mixture of AI models and reviewed by a human editor; the verdict is shown only when enough real mentions back it.

Why a mention floor?

A verdict resting on a handful of comments can flip because of one thread. Requiring 25+ mentions behind both the previous and the new verdict keeps this report to moves that reflect a body of opinion.

Does "worsened" mean the tool got worse?

It means the balance of what users wrote moved toward negative between the two syntheses — for example after a pricing change or a feature removal. It is a reading of public discussion, not our assessment of the product. The tool page shows the quotes so you can judge.

Can I use or cite this data?

Yes. The tables on this page and the JSON and CSV files linked from it are published under CC BY 4.0 — free to use, including commercially, with attribution. Cite "RightAIChoice" with a link to this page and the as-of date shown at the top.

How often is this report updated?

A new edition is computed on the first of every month from the live catalog. Each edition carries the date of the newest observation it read, so a quoted figure can always be tied to a date.
