Coda — now rebranding as Superhuman Docs — is a collaborative workspace where a document behaves like an application. You write like you would in a doc, then attach tables, formulas, buttons, and automations to turn that page into a team hub, tracker, CRM, or launch calendar without hiring a developer. More than 50,000 teams use it, and Fast Company's line that it's "more powerful than Google Docs and more flexible than Airtable or Notion" keeps showing up for a reason. Coda AI is the connected work assistant layer on top. AI chat handles brainstorming and Q&A, the AI assistant drafts and summarizes content or generates tables from scratch, and AI columns push that same generation across every row of a table so a feedback tracker or content calendar updates itself. The newest additions are AI Views, which build dynamic, AI-powered perspectives over your data for faster decision-making, and Coda Brain, currently in private preview — an AI platform aimed at cutting the time teams lose hunting for internal information. Compared to Notion, Coda gives you deeper relational tables and stronger automation; compared to Airtable, it keeps prose and database in one canvas with far more layout freedom. The tradeoff is a steeper learning curve and a primarily online model, so solo note-takers and teams with hard data-residency constraints should look at lighter options first.
