Slashit is a cross-platform text expander that combines AI sentence rewriting with a full clipboard history manager, built for Mac and Windows. It's for anyone who writes, drafts, or replies for a living—freelancers, support agents, marketers, founders, and influencers—who want to stop retyping the same messages. The app lives inside whatever you're already using, so you can expand snippets or rewrite highlighted text without leaving your current window. Core features include Dynamic Templates that auto-fill from your clipboard, an AI Rewrite Snippet that adjusts tone, fixes grammar, or translates on the fly, and a Clipboard History that stores rich-text items across multiple monitors. Recent updates added date/time variable insertion, multi-select clipboard items, QWERTZ/AZERTY keyboard support, and custom trigger characters like ':' and '?'. You can also trigger rewrites directly from Quick Access without a hotkey, and expansion is auto-complete-safe, so it won't clash with your typing. On the AI side, you can bring your own API key (BYOK) for OpenAI, Gemini, or Claude on paid plans, or use the included monthly credits. A permanent free tier covers core expansion and Magical AI rewrite with 200 AI credits per month. Where Slashit differs from ChatGPT is proximity: it lives one keystroke away inside Gmail, Slack, Notion, or your CRM, so you skip the copy-paste cycle and tab-switching. It's also simpler and cheaper than seat-based rivals like TextExpander, with flat per-user pricing and no per-seat complexity.
