Where TTKeyboard earns its place is the font conversion. Myanmar typists have spent years bouncing text between a keyboard and a separate converter app, and doing the Unicode-to-legacy switch in place removes a step from every message. That single behavior explains most of its user base. Word prediction is the second reason to pick it. The Smart Input engine learns how you type, so Myanmar and Khmer messages need fewer manual corrections than they do on a general keyboard that treats the script as an afterthought. In practice the gap shows up fastest in chat, where you send short bursts and every correction costs time. We'd reach for this when the phone is your main writing surface and the script is Myanmar or Khmer. It also solves a real hardware problem: Huawei devices without Google services have few keyboard choices, and the AppGallery build installs normally there. Pass on it if you type English, Thai or a spread of other languages alongside these scripts. This is a two-script tool, and you will want a second keyboard on the phone for everything else. Desktop and web typing are out of scope too. Compared with Keyman, the tradeoff is depth versus breadth. Keyman covers many languages and desktop layouts; TTKeyboard covers two scripts on mobile and goes deeper on the details those scripts need, like legacy font conversion and Shan-Unicode. If your work happens at a keyboard and monitor, Keyman is the better fit. A caveat worth flagging: there are no documented integrations with other apps or services, so treat it as a standalone typing tool. Nothing here hooks into third-party workflows, and the feature set is deliberately narrow. For the job it targets, that narrowness is the point.
